HELP US HELP YOU!
Most jobs are fairly straight forward, but some have their quirks. The following is a list of items that can cause problems/delays if we are not aware of them or they exist on your project.
Water availability- due to the
size of most of our projects it is difficult to bring enough water to the
site to perform our work. If there is not an available hydrant with a
construction meter, we need to know so we can make other arrangements for
water.

Rain Delays/Schedule Conflicts- Rain can often cause delays to multiple projects at the same time. When the rain clears there can be a rush to pour concrete. When this happens AIS can be faced with having many jobs wanting to pour on the same day. To remedy this we will often work through the night to help keep everyone on schedule. In these cases arrangements need to be made with security to allow us access to the site and to water.
Weather Problems-
Two things that can hinder our work are wind and rain. While we have
specialized equipment that allows us to work in the wind, if the winds are
excessive or the site is in close proximity to people that could be exposed
to pesticide, we, by law, cannot treat. In those cases we can often wait
until close to sunset when the wind generally dies and workers have left.
Another cause for delay can be water saturated or frozen soil. It is a
violation of both Federal and
Too Many Workers- Safety is of utmost importance to AIS and this can be difficult if our trade has to work too closely with others. If the layout or schedule of the project is such that other trades have to work within 150’ of the area to be treated (farther if windy) please let us know. We can arrange to come in toward the end of the work day to keep everyone working at full speed, while ensuring worker safety.
